About CSR
Established in 1983 in New Delhi,Centre for Social Research (CSR) is an internationally-recognised non-governmental organisation dedicated to creating a violence-free and gender-just society in India. CSR believes that all people should bear equal rights, privileges and opportunities, and that women can be catalysts for and agents of social change.
Today, CSR is one of India’s leading women’s organisations striving for greater inclusion of women in local, state and national political parties and bodies. The organisation’s specialised Gender Training Institute (GTI) regularly partners with institutions such as United Nations Women/UNIFEM and the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) in developing and conducting extensive political trainings for potential women leaders across India.
